DISTRICT PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
A Call to Valor: Building a Legacy of Faith
Gariston W. Bailey
Eighteenth President, MDMOBrothers in Christ:
The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 27:17 that "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." In the Monrovia District Men Organization, we are not just a collection of men; we are a brotherhood called by God to lead with integrity, serve with humility, and protect the future of our dearly beloved United Methodist Church, our communities, yea, our nation. Be reminded that strength isn't just about what a man can carry alone; it's about who he is willing to lift up. As men of the Monrovia District, our mission goes beyond our meetings. We are called to be the pillars of our church and homes, the mentors for our youth, and the backbone of our community.
In a world that often feels divided, our unity is our greatest asset. Our strength does not come from our own hands, but from our standing together in faith. Today, more than ever, our church and country need men who will:
- Disciple the Next Generation: Stepping up as mentors for our youth to ensure they walk in the light of the Kingdom.
- Uphold the Home: Being the spiritual anchors for our families, leading with love and the wisdom of the Gospel of peace.
- Serve the Community: Demonstrating Christ's love through tangible actions for the needy and vulnerable in our district.
The work is great, but our God is greater. Let's keep building, keep leading, and keep growing—together with:
- Purpose: Knowing that our actions today shape our church and country tomorrow.
- Integrity: Leading by example in everything we do.
- Service: Showing up for one another and our neighbours.
A Call to Action: The "Step Up" Initiative
We are calling on every member of the Monrovia District Men's Organization to move beyond the pews and into the mission field:
- Attend our Weekly Spiritual Power and Inspiration (WSPI) Sessions: Join us every Wednesday for a foundation of spiritual growth and unity.
- Mentor One Youth: Commit to our ongoing mentorship program to guide young boys and girls toward a productive, God-fearing future.
- Support Local Outreach: Participate in our upcoming initiatives to provide moral and spiritual support to the District Youth and Young Adult Fellowships.
Leadership is a collective responsibility. Let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.
To God be the Glory!
Yours faithfully,
Gariston W. Bailey
